one thing that drives me mad is, we say (correctly) "I couldn't care less" if we could not care less about something. Americans say "I could care less" when they could not care less about something. Just is completely grammatically wrong and makes no sense! Why is this?

I'm neither Brit or American but what annoys me is that you insist to spell the same word differently and I never know if it's british english or american english

maybe it's not that important but can be confusing for a Swede
new born - they aren't the same words:
lose (one o) is the opposite of win, i.e. to lose a game loose (2 o's) is the opposite of tight, i.e. loose fitting clothes choose (2 o's) is present/future tense, i.e. I will choose a dish from the menu chose (1 o) is past tense, I chose that dish from the menu
i am not a christain, but i do read the bible and believe myself to be a reasonabily moral person.
i have homosexual friends and relatives and would like to see just one bible passage where jesus himself says "men should not lay with men".... perhaps i may have missed it- or perhaps you practice paulianity instead of christianity?????

- of course the internet is free for all and everyone has a right to their say, i appreciate that, and i am also aware that there are a lot of people who dont believe particulatly but do not want to rock the boat of their life - its easier to just take a backseat (though in my experience that made me ill in the end).
but i have noticed as i read, that there are some advocates for the organization who are active, practicing and believe it fully.. i was a jw for 25 years and in that time, bad association was mentioned constantly and then especially in the last ten years, the dangers of the internet and the warnings to witnesses not to surf or interact with websites that had an affiliation with jws unless it was the official watchtower.borg site.. now, correct me if i am wrong, but if people are active, practicing and believe it fully, then why would they associate with dfd and dad people on these forums?

Simon writes his own programming. It is a work in progress. Few programs can handle the load this forum needs hence the need to build from scratch. Each upgrade makes things better.
I know its programmed from scratch - my point is there is no point to doing this.

In fact the opposite is true, this forum can't handle the load and frequently comes up with errors, prewritten solutions like PHPBB and IPS handle large loads much better, there are many forums out there literally 1000 times busier than this that run fine under prewritten forum software.
There are so many features lacking in this forum and bugs it would take years of development to sort them all out. Simon - can't you just switch to a standard forum?

as a side note, why does this forum use really, really awful forum software? why not something standard like IPS or PHPBB - in the case of the latter it's completely free!
